I used to be totally FREAKED about fat. I counted every fat gram in every thing I ate, and kept my self from eating over 18 grams in one day. That’s hard! Obsession has its price, though, and this constant vigilance made me a fat Nazi. Seriously, no one would ever want to eat around me because the moment the ice cream would come out, I, without fail, would obnoxiously (helpfully, I thought at the time) exclaim, “do you know how much fat is in that?!” and if you can believe it, people stopped inviting me places.
Seems like a lot of folks have made an enemy of fat, but its not fat that makes you fat! Now, a steady diet of globby, oily, saturated fat foods is going to put on the weight and mess with your blood sugar, but a regular diet with fatty but healthy natural foods is not going to be what kills you, The stress over the fat will probably kill you first. If you exercise at all and get a good dose of complex carbs, natural fat will actually help your health. So lighten up, have some guacamole and some nice pesto pasta.
