Zits are common, they happen to just about everyone, and frankly for as long as we have suffered them, we know just about nothing about how to treat them. It doesn’t make any sense right. I mean with all the science and otherwise, we should know the cause of acne, we should have found a cure, and we should never have to suffer from zits again!
Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. I would say it’s because we’re too busy studying things like oh cancer, autism, diabetes, things that you really don’t just grow out of in most cases. But of course, it could also be said that acne is plenty important, especially when it turns into adult acne or more severe forms of acne in general. With this in mind, really the only thing we can do with zits is to try to fight the contributors and more importantly prevent them. So here are a few basic ways that you can prevent unnecessary outbreaks of acne.
1. Don’t overcleanse-yes, you should cleanse your skin twice daily, but if you are doing it three times daily or more, you are probably overdoing it. It is possible to get too much of a good thing.
2. Wash away your makeup before you go to bed-this is self explanatory I would think
3. Drink more water-water cleanses your systems, keeps your skin properly hydrated with water rather than harsher oils, etc.
4. Don’t touch your face-when you touch your face, you are only spreading around more oil and bacteria. So stop.
5. Keep your hair off the face-it’s the same mentality. Hair spreads more dirts and oils around and it makes it worse.
6. Wash your sheets and pillowcase-dirt and oils can build up on these, and frankly the more often you wash them, the less likely these things are to really build up like that
7. Eat a good diet-they say that chocolate, fat, sugar, and milk cannot cause acne. That’s true, we don’t know the cause. But they can certainly contribute.
